Describe your role at recruitAbility.
I specialize in Financial and Operations Recruiting for our Finance and Operations Recruitment Division. I work locally and nationally to help companies find top talent. It’s a collaborative role, which I enjoy.
I spend my day cultivating relationships with hiring teams and candidates to ensure that there is a successful mutually beneficial match between the two. I serve as a company’s brand ambassador to a nationally wide audience. Also, I spend a good portion of my day cultivating relationships with candidates to ensure that they have a positive experience during the hiring and interview process.
What made you want to work in recruiting?
I wanted to work in Recruiting since I learned how traditional Talent Acquisition methods overlooked people who would have made great employees.
Also, when I was serving in the United States Navy, myself and my co-workers would dream of our future civilian lives. In those dreams, we were always employed in work that was meaningful and authentic to ourselves.
Being a Recruiter is meaningful and authentic to me because I help people achieve their dreams for their professional lives or relieve professional stress while being amicable and friendly.
What is your favorite part of recruiting?
I love giving candidates and hiring managers good news. It never gets old.
What made you want to join recruitAbility?
There is a lot of reasons why I joined recruitAbility, but it was my interactions with Santiago, Amanda, and Damien that cemented my choice. I feel comfortable working here because I have a boss that I can trust to lead me, transparent top leadership, and co-workers that I feel comfortable being around, I am 1000% supportive of our company’s mission, values, and objectives. So, I look forward to meeting new co-workers.
Do you have a favorite business book or podcast?
I have yet to read my favorite business book. I am taking recommendations for my TBR (To Be Read) list.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
I love to meet new people, try new foods, and go out and find new experiences. Life is made to be lived. Also, I enjoy vegetable gardening, reading, knitting, and trying out new recipes.
Favorite dinner spot in Austin?
I have not tried all the restaurants in Austin since I moved here during Covid and I have been working remotely. I am looking forward to trying new restaurants and dishes that I have never tasted.
What is your favorite thing to do around Austin?
My favorite part of living in the Austin metropolitan area is all the outdoor spaces. I like being outdoors in the sunshine and there are so many great places. A few places even feel like being on vacation. I have yet to fully explore downtown Austin or the Domain.
