Cloud Engineer – Azure

Our client is one of the nation’s largest developers, owners, and managers of high-quality student housing communities. As they continue to grow, they are looking for a Cloud Systems Engineer to support the development and operation of scalable, secure cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise-wide applications. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance.
What YOU get to DO at this growing company:
- Design, implement, and maintain the company’s cloud infrastructure with a focus on scalability and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy cloud-based solutions that align with business needs.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and delivery processes in a cloud environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment-related issues, ensuring system performance and uptime.
- Implement robust backup and disaster recovery strategies across cloud platforms.
- Identify, analyze, and address security vulnerabilities and apply appropriate remediation practices.
- Mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative engineering culture.
- Proactively analyze metrics and performance indicators to identify improvement opportunities and deliver optimization strategies.
What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, preferably in Azure environments.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools and automation frameworks (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Octopus).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Demonstrated experience with DevOps methodologies and ITIL best practices.
- Skilled in managing cloud networking, compute resources, and serverless architectures.
- Familiarity with cloud security and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred). Azure certifications are a plus.
