Cloud Engineer – Azure

Our client is one of the nation’s largest developers, owners, and managers of high-quality student housing communities. As they continue to grow, they are looking for a Cloud Engineer – Azure to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions that support a distributed workforce. This role will optimize cloud infrastructure, enhance security, automate deployments, and ensure system reliability. The Cloud Engineer will work closely with IT teams, developers, and business stakeholders to build and maintain a scalable Azure environment.

- Design, deploy, and manage Azure-based cloud solutions to support business operations.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost efficiency, and security.
- Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or PowerShell.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues.
- Ensure cloud security best practices by implementing access controls, identity management, and compliance measures.
- Collaborate with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.
- Manage and maintain cloud networking components, including virtual networks, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Document cloud architectures, configurations, and best practices.
What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of cloud engineering experience, focusing on Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency in Azure services (VMs, Azure AD, Networking, Storage, etc.).
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, or PowerShell.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and governance.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps methodologies.
- Understanding of networking concepts such as firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, or Azure DevOps Engineer).
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies.
- Knowledge of serverless computing and automation tools.
