Their location at St. Joseph Missouri is a specialty plant for the chemical manufacturing of plant food, plant protection and nutrition products. Due to continued growth and the desire to maintained excellent EHS standards, they are looking for a talented EHS Specialist to join there team.  The EHS Specialist will oversee all regulations regarding site air emissions, storm water permit, SPCC plan, and Wastewater permits.

What YOU get to DO in this high profile position:

  • PSM/RMP – Work with a variety of internal and third-party resources to identify discrete tasks required for PSM and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) compliance. Implement and coordinate the completion of those tasks and maintain the proper documentation and files. Responsible for compliance with all Federal, State and Local requirements pertaining to OSHA Process Safety Management and EPA Risk Management Program requirements.   
  • Environmental Program Compliance – Manage regulatory requirements and responsible for site air emissions, storm water permit, SPCC plan, and Wastewater permit.
  • Environmental Reporting – Responsible for completing the annual EPA reports including SARA Tier II, Pesticide Production Report, and Toxic Release Inventory. 
  • EHS Program Implementation – Collaborate with the EHS Manager in the implementation and maintenance of safety programs. 
  • Assist in developing the annual operating and capital budget for maintaining compliance with chemical safety and environmental regulatory requirements.

What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role:

  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a technical field emphasizing math and science
  • 2-5 years Environmental Health and Safety experience
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred with increasing responsibility regarding leading employees and implementation of production safety programs
