Our client is an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) specializing in electronics manufacturing solutions for critical systems. They serve various industries, including aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial sectors. Their key services include surface mount technology (SMT), through-hole soldering, electro-mechanical assembly, and comprehensive testing to ensure product reliability.

As they continue to grow, they are looking for a Senior Supply Chain Manager who will lead material procurement, supplier partnerships, and supply chain efficiency, ensuring seamless integration with engineering and production. This strategic leadership role requires expertise in procurement strategies, vendor performance optimization, and process improvement to support ongoing production and new product introduction (NPI).

What YOU get to DO at this established company:

  • Oversee all material procurement activities, including supervising and coaching procurement personnel.
  • Build strong partnerships with suppliers to enhance vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and source new vendors with support from Quality and Engineering teams.
  • Lead supplier selection, cost reduction initiatives, and make/buy decision-making to improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain and continuously improve supply chain processes, documentation, and compliance with ISO9000/AS9100 standards.
  • Ensure seamless material availability for production and internal requirements by negotiating pricing, lead times, and supply chain efficiency improvements.
  • Participate in internal and vendor audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate policies.
  • Maintain accurate standard costs, vendor lead times, and supply chain performance reports for management.
  • Work closely with engineering and development teams during new product introduction (NPI) to align procurement with product launches.

What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, 
  • 7-10 years of experience in material procurement.
  • Experience working with defense contractors and government businesses is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, and ERP/MRP systems (preferably Macola or Syteline).
  • Proven ability to source, negotiate, and secure materials while optimizing costs and vendor performance.
  • Familiarity with ISO9000/AS9100 compliance and quality assurance standards.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to conduct cost-benefit analyses and make strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Experience in leading and developing procurement teams to drive operational success.
